Lincoln City Libraries to Host Discussion of Nathaniel Philbrick’s American Revolution Books October 19
Lincoln City Libraries (LCL) invites residents to “Revolutionary Ambition,” a free program exploring bestselling author Nathaniel Philbrick’s books about the American Revolution. The discussion begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday, October 19, at Walt Branch Library, 6701 S. 14th St.
Dr. Tyler White of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Political Science will lead a discussion of Philbrick’s trilogy. The program offers readers an opportunity to explore the books and their historical themes ahead of Philbrick’s appearance at the 2026 Governor’s Lecture in the Humanities.
“The book discussion led by Tyler White will be a great warm-up for the upcoming Governor's Lecture in the Humanities with bestselling author Nathaniel Philbrick,” said Chris Sommerich, executive director of Humanities Nebraska. “The two of them will be in conversation together on the Lied Center stage on October 27, and Tyler is excited to see what's on readers' minds as he prepares to discuss Philbrick's books on the American Revolution.”
The Governor’s Lecture in the Humanities is presented by Humanities Nebraska and the E.N. Thompson Forum on World Issues and will take at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, place at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.
