Lincoln City Libraries Civic Lowdown Series Begins September 5

Lincoln City Libraries invites residents to learn more about the people, projects and services that keep Lincoln running through three informational sessions at Gere Branch Library, 2400 S. 56th St. The sessions are free and registration is not required.

The Civic Lowdown series connects community members directly with City of Lincoln departments and employees to learn what is happening in the community, ask questions and get a closer look at the work behind City services.

All sessions are from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays, and the schedule is as follows:

September 5: “Waste Matters: Trash and Recycling” with Shay Flowerday, Environmental Health Educator. Learn what happens to Lincoln’s trash and recycling, how the system works and what residents can do to reduce waste.
October 3: “Building Lincoln’s Future: The Infrastructure Projects Shaping Our City” with Liz Elliott, Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Director. Find out what’s underway, what’s ahead and how infrastructure projects are shaping Lincoln’s future.
November 7: “Parks and Rec!” with Jamie Granquist, Parks Event Coordinator. Learn about the programs, spaces and events that make Lincoln’s parks and recreation system part of everyday life.
