Snowplow Santa to Visit Lincoln December 6

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that Snowplow Santa will deliver holiday cheer from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 6. This is the sixth year LTU has organized the free event in partnership with Lincoln City Libraries.

Instead of a sleigh, Santa Claus will ride in an LTU snowplow, wave at residents along the route, and make brief stops at two libraries. Families will be able to meet Snowplow Santa and take pictures with him using their own cameras and camera phones.

“Bringing holiday joy to our community is something we look forward to every year,” said Liz Elliott, LTU Director. “Snowplow Santa gives families a chance to celebrate together, enjoy the excitement of the season, and see the work our snowplow operators do to keep streets safe during the winter. It’s wonderful to see the smiles on children’s faces and the joy that fills the library parking lots during this event.”

These are outdoor events with Snowplow Santa visiting a designated area of each library branch parking lot. Following Snowplow Santa’s visits, each library will offer crafts and holiday refreshments indoors.

The schedule is as follows:

  • 10 to 11 a.m. – Eiseley Branch Library, 1530 Superior St.
  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Gere Branch Library, 2400 South 56th St.

“Lincoln City Libraries is always excited to partner with LTU and Snowplow Santa to share holiday cheer with the community,” said Ali Bousquet, Lincoln City Libraries Youth Services Coordinator. “From meeting Santa and taking pictures to enjoying crafts and seasonal treats, the event offers families a festive and fun experience. It’s a delight to watch children and adults alike connect with the magic of the season and make memories together.”
