The Turning the Pages of Romance conferences were a series of annual one-day events in which fans of romance literature could connect with both regional and best-selling romance authors. The conferences were co-sponsored by Lincoln City Libraries and the Omaha Public Library (and in 2004 by the Lincoln City Library Foundation).

Following the example of a romance literature conference previously held in Omaha, the Lincoln and Omaha library systems teamed up to produce three one-day Turning the Pages of Romance conferences in downtown Lincoln, from 2004 through 2006. Each year, one nationally recognized best-selling author was invited to serve as a keynote speaker, with another dozen-or-so Nebraska or midwestern-region romance authors in attendance as well. Following a keynote address by the Guest of Honor, all of the authors then appeared (in mixed groups) on various discussion panels or in Q&A sessions with the audience. A catered lunch provided attendees with an additional opportunity to sit with one of their favorite authors and chat while eating. A book sales room each year also gave attendees a chance to pick up new books by all of the authors present, and to seek out autographs.

Lincoln City Libraries staff compiled conference pages for each year's event, including collections of photos posted after each conference concluded.
