The novels and short story collections of Nebraska fantasy author Kenneth C. Flint Kenneth C. Flint was born in Omaha, NE on June 23, 1947. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, with a Master's of Fine Arts degree in English Literature. From 1972 to 1978, he taught in the Department of Humanities at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. From 1979 to 1987, she served as Chairman of English for the Plattsmouth Community Schools (a system in a suburban community of Omaha). In addition to teaching, since 1987 he has worked as a freelance writer, producing articles, novels, short stories, and screenplays for some Omaha-based film companies. His interest in the mythology of Ireland began while taking a course in Celtic literature in graduate school and on a trip to Ireland with his wife, Judith. He recognized that there was a wealth of unexplored material in the powerful legends of the Celtic peoples. Since then he has spent much time researching (in the library and abroad in England and Ireland) those legends and incorporating them into works of fantasy based on the tales of the heroes of ancient Ireland, that would interest modern readers. A more recent set of novels, Cromm, Otherworld and Legends Reborn, all interweave Celtic myth with a more contemporary setting. Following a couple of media tie-in stories in the mid-1990s, Flint's most recent work has diverged from his traditional fantasy novels. His Blood and Water: Year One in 2004 is a historical fiction novel -- an adventurous saga of the first major expedition to follow Lewis and Clark and build Fort Atkinson on the Council Bluff.
