Eleanor Burford Hibbert has written under a variety of pseudonyms, the most well-known of which are Victoria Holt, Philippa Carr and Jean Plaidy. No matter what name she's writing under, the common stylistic theme for Hibbert's works was the Gothic Romance. Though Hibbert's greatest period of popularity was probably the 1960s through the 1980s, her work still retains numerous fans.
