Summer Reading Program

Be Creative @ Your Library

Join the thousands of children who visit the library, attend special events, and READ this summer.

Summer Reading ProgramBooklets will be available beginning Monday, June 1. These are completed at your own pace, with plenty of spaces for stamps and stickers to recognize visits to the library, completed reading activities, and time spent reading. If you complete your booklet on or before July 31, you'll receive some excellent prizes.

You may register online now! Booklets are now available at all Lincoln City Library locations. To complete the program kids need to visit the library four times, complete 10 "reading activities" such as listen to a book on tape or CD; read to a younger brother or sister etc…. and read for a total of 10 hours.

When kids have completed, they get the following prizes:
Lots of Special Events are offered free of charge, with elementary age students as the intended audience. Photos of some of this year's events for kids and teens can be seen in an online slideshow.

Looking for book groups? Their sign-up begins April 15. We offer parent-child groups for early and late elementary. Stop by the library, or check our online information. Pre-registration is required.

Summer Reading Program Mark Your Calendars for Fun! Wednesday, August 12, is the designated Lincoln City Libraries Summer Reading Program Recognition Night with the Lincoln Saltdogs. All youth who finish their summer reading program booklet by July 31 will receive a voucher for free admission to the baseball game that evening. Save time by exchanging your voucher for a ticket before August 12!

Check out these activities to go along with the books I Know a Shy Fellow Who Swallowed a Cello, Dance Away, and The Fat Cat.

Winners of this year's Bookmark Contest have been announced!

Looking for programs for middle schoolers? Be sure to look for the special flyer, or check the information online. Call (402)441-8566 for further information.
